Corporate Social Responsibility, Environmental Emissions and Time-Consistent Taxation

This study examines how different forms of corporate social responsibility influence environmental taxation and total emissions. Using a game-theoretic model, the research analyzes the interaction between a socially responsible firm, a profit-maximizing firm and an environmental regulator. The findings show that optimal environmental taxes depend on the type of CSR strategy adopted and on market conditions, highlighting how corporate behavior can influence both regulatory decisions and environmental outcomes.

The impact of environmental, social and governance (ESG) score on dividend payment of large family firms

This study examines the relationship between environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance and dividend payments in 274 large family firms across developed and emerging economies between 2015 and 2021. The findings show that higher ESG scores are positively associated with dividend payments, while financial constraints reduce this relationship. The study also highlights the importance of considering firms’ financial limitations when designing dividend policies aligned with sustainability objectives. Overall, the research provides international evidence on how ESG performance and financial constraints jointly influence financial decisions in large family firms.
